Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

In accordance with the requirements II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the City of Charlottesville does not discriminate on the basis of disability in admission to, access to, or operations of its programs, services, or activities. The City does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices.

Title VI

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in programs and activities receiving Federal financial assistance. Specifically, Title VI provides that “no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance” (42 U.S.C. Section 2000d).The City of Charlottesville ensures nondiscrimination in all programs and activities in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
