News and Updates
On January 30, 2026, the City invited contractors to bid on the East High Street construction project. Work will span East Market Street (7th to 9th), 9th Street (E. Market to E. High), and East High Street (9th to Locust/10th). The project includes relocating water, sewer, and gas utilities; building an underground duct bank on 9th Street; and upgrading traffic signals and ITS at several intersections. Bids close March 31, with construction expected to start July 6. Updates on road closures and impacts will be posted online.
